Acts of Service: Paying it Forward Challenge

Paying it Forward Challenge _1_.png

The COVID-19 pandemic has unraveled everything we know about the way we work. Our lives have fundamentally changed, making it hard to find time to volunteer. While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day.

Giving in even simple ways can help those in need and improve your health and happiness. Doing volunteer work you find meaningful and interesting can be a relaxing, energizing escape from your day-to-day routine of work.

Last month, I joined the Million Mask Challenge and began sewing masks for coworkers and for Community Outreach, Golden Acres Living. I love sewing and wanted to provide “happy masks” to brighten someone’s day. Volunteering is a fun and easy way to explore your interests and passions.

What would you enjoy doing? When we find ways to serve and support others utilizing our hobbies and passion, as Christie Clenney would say, we can move mountains! Let’s pay it forward IREM Dallas!

It is my sincere hope to inspire others to support and lift others not only during these times, but all the time.
